Child safety standards

App: HypUp

Last updated: September 4, 2026

This page is HypUp’s publicly posted standard against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). It applies to the HypUp mobile and web apps.

Who may use HypUp

HypUp is for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly allow accounts for children under 13. Date of birth is collected at profile completion to enforce that minimum age. If we learn an under-13 account exists, we will delete it. Parents or guardians should email privacy@cuetheory.ai.

Zero tolerance

HypUp does not allow child sexual abuse material, child sexual exploitation, grooming, or sexual content involving minors (anyone under 18).

This includes, without limitation:

These activities are banned under our Terms of Service. They may also be crimes. We will remove violating content, suspend or terminate accounts, and report to the appropriate authorities when we have actual knowledge of CSAM or CSAE.

How we try to prevent this

  1. Age gate — the Service is 13+; under-13 accounts are not permitted.
  2. Rules — users agree not to upload illegal or sexual-involving-minors content.
  3. Automated screening — uploaded photos and videos are screened (including Cloud Vision SafeSearch). Content that fails screening is not published.
  4. Account action — we may limit features, suspend, or terminate accounts for violations.
  5. Blocks — users can block other users from a profile.

These measures reduce risk. They are not a guarantee that prohibited content never appears.

How to report a child safety concern

In the HypUp app

  1. Open the person’s profile → menu (⋯) → Report, or open their Moment → flag icon.
  2. Choose Child safety or sexual content involving a minor (or another reason).
  3. Submit. We store the report and notify the child-safety inbox.

By email (also fine if you cannot use the app)

  1. Email support@cuetheory.ai from an address we can reply to.
  2. Use the subject line: Child safety report.
  3. Include what you saw, when, the username or profile if known, and a link or screenshot if you have one.
  4. Do not attach or resend suspected CSAM. Describe it and where it appeared in HypUp.

We also accept reports at privacy@cuetheory.ai.

What we do with a report

When we receive a credible child-safety report, we aim to:

We may not be able to tell the reporter every action we take.
